Een van Utrechts meest intrigerende historische panden staat prominent op de hoek van de Trans en de Nieuwegracht. Het is de voormalige herensociëteit "Sic Semper", daterend uit 1891, waar hoge officieren, edelen en patriciërs eind negentiende eeuw bijeenkwamen om te netwerken. Tegenwoordig is het pand verdeeld in appartementen. Interieurontwerper Remy Meijers kreeg de opdracht om het appartement op de eerste verdieping te ontwerpen: hoe ingetogen modernisme en karaktervolle historie samenkomen in een historisch interieur.

In de villa, omringd door water, genieten bewoners volop van de rust en het nieuwe, stijlvolle interieur. En dat alles zonder te hoeven verhuizen. Remy Meijers ontwierp de uitgebreide renovatie en creëerde met een hoogwaardig (maatwerk) interieur en een rijk palet aan materialen een setting waar luxe en functionaliteit hand in hand gaan. Met een levend schilderij als uitzicht.

The stunning result of this newly built villa in Brabant is the result of a unique collaboration between Lenz Architects from Uden and interior architect Remy Meijers. From the very first sketches, Meijers was involved in the design of this spacious home. Remy delved deeply into the client's wishes. The composition of the residents, their living habits, and the functions of the rooms determine the flow and the different zones within the home.

Asked about the apartment's biggest eye-catcher in Knokke, Belgium, Remy Meijers points to the outside: the beach and the sea form an endless, living canvas. A young family purchases a historic Utrecht townhouse with a dated interior. Een project dat zeker in dit rijtje thuishoort, is deze adembenemende villa, gelegen op een prachtig landgoed. LENZ architecten, interieurontwerper Remy Meijers en Van Dinther Bouwbedrijf werkten zeer nauw en integraal samen in het ontwerp- en bouwproces. Het werkelijk fantastische eindresultaat weerspiegelt de meer dan succesvolle samenwerking tussen de drie partijen en de betrokken opdrachtgevers.

In juni vierde Remy Meijers het memorabele feit dat hij 25 jaar geleden cum laude afstudeerde aan de opleiding Architectonische Vormgeving: Interieur- en Meubelontwerp van de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht. In de 25 jaar die volgden, groeide Remy uit tot een veelgevraagd en gewaardeerd ontwerper.
