Mastering the balance between the simple and the sumptuous, Remy Meijers creates artfully composed places to enjoy life to its fullest. Design inspired by the inherent qualities of a space, oozing calmness without being too rigidly sober. Averse to making concessions, his signature style invokes a sense of serenity. His outstanding design concepts have elevated the quality of life for people around the globe. Meijers studied Interior Architecture at the famous HKU in his hometown Utrecht, one of the larger cities in the Netherlands. The arts-focused institution is located in the country's green heart, with dozens of small-scale heritage villages dotted in the nearby countryside and woods.

“PAIRING NATURAL MATERIALS WITH REPETITIVE DESIGN GESTURES CREATES A SATISFACTORY TABULA RASA, BROUGHT TO LIVE BY CONTRASTS IN MATERIALS AND SHAPES"
His private three-storey home, originally two split houses joined together by an eye-catching steel staircase, boasts an impressively generous in-house studio and meeting space for clients on the ground floor. From the living area on the first floor, one overlooks one of the city's charming canals, with the sight of the infamous Dom tower further in the back. It exemplifies his approach. A deceptively simple home, where every single design choice is inseparable from its context upon further inspection. Selecting the finest natural materials, leveraging exquisite craftsmanship, with an eye for detail.

Proposing to work with Remy Meijers entails exclusivity and undivided attention. His personal involvement in every step of the process, from the initiation to the final execution, can be labelled as unique. It results in extraordinary architecture that escapes sentiments about what's in fashion. Appreciating the now and respecting the next. Participating in selected design collaborations, Meijers expanded his cultural universe beyond the one-on-one design. Design exercises range from creating glassware to chairs to art direction for international furniture brands.
